SUMMARY:On The Fringe
DESCRIPTION:What happens when you spend years performing at Fringe festivals\, chasing the dream\, collecting stories — and somehow remain permanently on the fringe of success? \nIn On The Fringe\, Nicki Watts tells the story of an amazing journey through Fringe festivals around the country\, culminating in the gold-medal experience itself: Edinburgh. \nEach Fringe has a story\, and each story has a poem. Expect funny moments\, moving moments\, unexpected turns and a few genuine “WTF?” moments along the way. \nPart storytelling\, part poetry\, part memoir\, On The Fringe is a celebration of the highs\, lows\, triumphs\, disasters and sheer absurdity of trying to make your mark as a performer. \nCome for the stories. Stay for the poetry. Find out what it really means to be on the fringe.

SUMMARY:Possession 1981 Halloween Weekend Screening
DESCRIPTION:Possession comes to the big screen in Liverpool for a special Halloween weekend screening at 81 Renshaw on Friday 30 October\, closing Scalarama Liverpool 2026. \nObscure Film and Fringe Flicks are joining forces to present Andrzej Żuławski’s extraordinary 1981 cult classic\, starring Isabelle Adjani and Sam Neill. \nSet against the divided landscape of Cold War Berlin\, Possession begins with the breakdown of Mark and Anna’s marriage. What initially appears to be an intense relationship drama soon spirals into jealousy\, paranoia\, obsession\, body horror and increasingly surreal territory. \nFeverish\, unsettling and notoriously difficult to categorise\, Possession has developed a devoted cult following since its original release. Isabelle Adjani’s extraordinary performance won Best Actress at Cannes\, while the film itself has continued to find new audiences through its combination of psychological drama\, horror\, dark humour and genuinely strange imagery. \nFor anyone looking for something a little different to do in Liverpool over Halloween weekend\, this is a chance to experience Possession communally on the big screen rather than at home. \nThe screening is also the closing event of Scalarama Liverpool 2026\, a month-long celebration of independent and DIY cinema taking place across the city throughout October. \nAnd this won’t be quite a standard cinema screening. \nAfter the film\, anyone feeling particularly brave can choose to take part in a Possession scene-recreation challenge\, inspired by one of the film’s most infamous sequences\, with prizes to be won. Participation is completely optional\, and watching other people make questionable performance decisions is equally welcome. \nObscure Film are also creating a specially commissioned alternative Possession poster for the event. The artwork will be screen printed at Liverpool Community Print Station and available on the night. \nThe event is presented collaboratively by Obscure Film and Fringe Flicks\, the underground community film night run by Liverpool-based artist-led organisation People Versus TV. \nTickets are Pay What You Can\, helping keep the screening accessible to people on different incomes. \nFriday 30 October 2026\n81 Renshaw\, 81 Renshaw Street\, Liverpool L1 2SJ\nDoors open 6.30pm\nFilm begins approximately 7pm\n18+\nPay What You Can

Join us for an unforgettable evening in the breathtaking Lady Chapel at Liverpool Cathedral on Monday 14 December 2026. \nFor four decades\, Rainbow Trust has been supporting families with a seriously ill child through some of life’s toughest moments. This milestone year gives us the chance to reflect on that impact and celebrate the incredible community that has helped make it possible. \nAs candlelight glows through the Lady Chapel and the sound of a live choir fills the space\, you’ll be immersed in the warmth and wonder of the festive season. Expect a moving programme of traditional carols\, festive performances and special readings\, all brought together in one of Liverpool’s most iconic settings. \nUpon arrival\, enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie as you take in the atmosphere and share in the spirit of the evening with fellow supporters\, friends and family. \nMore than a festive concert\, this event is a chance to come together and make a real difference. Every ticket helps Rainbow Trust continue providing practical and emotional support to families with seriously ill children across the UK. \nWe’re delighted to bring this special event to Liverpool for the first time and hope you’ll join us in celebrating 40 years of Rainbow Trust.
